There aren't many things I hate about performing live. But one of those things is playing that final song, knowing the show is about to come to a close. I LIVE TO PLAY MUSIC LIVE, so when its time to pack up and call it a night, it's always hard. With that said, this song is about playing that final song, and looking to the future in anticipation of that next show.
lyrics
VERSE I
The lights will slowly dim, as the show comes to an end
The people sigh as the music dies, and head out with their friends
I start to shake some hands, as the clock begins to chime
It’s telling me, that I must be, completely out of time…(but)
CHORUS
We don’t say goodbye, we just say good night
We don’t say goodbye, tonight
We don’t say goodbye, we just say good night
We don’t say goodbye, tonight
VERSE II
I always want to stay, and make friends with everyone
I always try so hard sometimes, yet I’ve just begun
To understand that we, though far apart it seems
Our two hearts are not apart, though in distant dreams
BRIDGE
As hard as I try sometimes, I’ll never realize
That peace of mind is where I find, the light of us here in the night
Tonight is where we make it, tonight is where we break it…tonight
