This song was a Christmas gift to my girlfriend (now wife). We had only been dating a few months, so you can imagine my anxiety upon sending her this song as an mp3 over e-mail on Christmas Eve. "Beautiful" is pure emotion, and I think I capture that emotion specifically in the guitar solo of the song. To this day, out of the 100+ songs I've written, arranged, or collaborated on, this is my all time favorite.
